Merlin Olson R.I.P.

R.I.P. Merlin; I got to see him terrorize QBs in the late 60's. I remember the "Fearsome Foursome" when I was a kid. They always played great against my Colts. They punished QBs with all kinds of hits that are not legal in today's game. I wish the no rules of those days still applied today. The game was so much more violent, I loved to see quarterbacks get hammered. Well Sonny Jurgensen got hammered many ways, but that's another story. That's one of the reasons I became a fan of the game. Those violent hits are outlawed today. God Bless you Merlin and prayers to your family. Thank you for contributing to my love of the NFL.

Colts 2009 - 2010 Season

The biggest mistake the Colts made in the 2009-2010 Season was made by management. In week 15 Bill Polian decided to take the food from the Lions mouth in the middle of its meal. The team was rolling for perfection, the city and all the team fans all over the world, were hoping to witness something never done before 19-0. It was taken away that day. Peyton was defrauded as you could easily tell from his expression on the sidelines. He was frustrated and wanted back in the game. He was talking to the coaches but  had no luck. Because of a ultra conservative robotic approach by management.  The Saints won the SB because they had the guts to do so. That onside kick took guts. The Saints won the SB because they went for 19-0. Even though they did not achieve that they had the balls to try. Ultimately I believe the Colts expected to win the Super Bowl. While the Saints coaches and management had their team better prepared for war. As in "Ambush" that's the name of the on side kick at the start of the 3rd quarter. My self a Colts lifetime fan offer congratulations to the Saints organization.  As far as my Colts, Bill Polian draft some balls to replace yours this season.
